Sanding the Rough Edges - Part 1

Coping with Crisis and Stress

When you are doing construction, you need to measure and cut the wood to make it fit the measurements. Not all the cuts are perfect so there are times wen the edges need to be sanded. By sanding the rough edges, the wood can fit or feel refined to the touch. Just as the wood needs to be sanded or beveled, so does life when we face a crisis or a stressful event.

Life is full of events which cause us to evaluate what is real, safe, or important. When crisis hits, we find out how tough or emotionally stable we are. Our family becomes closer or drifts further apart. We find out who our friends are. We learn to either circle the wagons or run and hide.
